1. Program Description

Smith Barid, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) offers SMS/text messaging services (“Program”) to individuals who voluntarily opt in to receive messages related to our legal services. By providing your mobile phone number and opting in, you agree to receive text messages from Smith Barid, LLC, including but not limited to:

  • Appointment confirmations, reminders, and scheduling changes
  • Verification codes and two-factor authentication messages
  • Case and matter status updates
  • Document requests and completion notifications
  • Responses to inquiries you have submitted to our firm
  • Administrative messages related to your engagement with our firm

2. Consent to Receive Messages

By opting in, you expressly consent to receive text messages from Smith Barid, LLC at the mobile number you provided. Consent is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services from our firm. You represent that you are the subscriber of, or an authorized user of, the mobile number you provide.

3. Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your interaction with our firm and the nature of your matter. You may receive messages on an as-needed basis in connection with scheduling, case updates, or verification requests.

4. Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Smith Barid, LLC does not charge for sending or receiving text messages, but your mobile carrier may charge you for messages sent to or received from us according to the terms of your wireless plan. Please contact your wireless carrier for information about your messaging plan.

5. Opt-Out Instructions

You may cancel the SMS service at any time. To stop receiving text messages from Smith Barid, LLC, reply STOP to any message you receive from us. After you send “STOP,” we will send you a confirmation message, and you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you wish to rejoin, reply START or contact our office directly.

7. Supported Carriers

The Program is available on most major U.S. wireless carriers, including AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, Boost Mobile, MetroPCS, Cricket, and others. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Service availability and delivery are not guaranteed.

8. Privacy

Mobile information, including phone numbers and opt-in status, is used solely for the purposes described in these Terms. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information may be shared with subcontractors and service providers (such as messaging platform vendors) strictly to support the delivery of messages on our behalf. 9. No Attorney-Client Relationship via SMS

Text messages sent to or received from Smith Barid, LLC do not, by themselves, establish an attorney-client relationship. An attorney-client relationship is formed only upon execution of a written engagement agreement with our firm. Do not send confidential, sensitive, or time-sensitive legal information via text message. SMS is not a secure communication channel, and messages may be intercepted, delayed, or undelivered. For confidential matters, please contact our office directly or use a secure communication method provided by the firm.

10. Not for Emergencies

SMS messaging is not monitored 24/7 and is not an appropriate channel for legal emergencies or time-sensitive matters. If you have an urgent issue, call our office at (912) 352-3999 during business hours or seek other appropriate assistance.

11. Eligibility

The Program is available to individuals located in the United States who are 18 years of age or older. By opting in, you represent that you meet these requirements.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify or terminate the SMS messaging program, or these Terms, at any time and without prior notice. Material changes will be posted on our website, and continued participation in the Program after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Program shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Chatham County, Georgia.

This SMS Terms of Service language is designed to comply with TCPA, CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices, and A2P 10DLC carrier registration requirements. Review with counsel and your messaging platform provider (e.g., Twilio, Bandwidth) before deployment.
